ABOUT WMC
Our History
Wyra Medical Centre was founded by Dr. John Robert Wayira and his wife Dr. Agatha Petua Nambuya in 1981. It was then known as Central Clinic located in Katwe, a populous Kampala city area widely known for African Ingenuity. Following the untimely death of Dr. Wayira in 2006, the clinic was relocated to a larger facility in Kasangati, a move that came with a change of name to Wayira Memorial Medical Centre in memory of the late Dr. John Robert Wayira who had conceived the vision of an advanced hospital.
As we move to become more efficient and effective as a healthcare provider, we know that change is inevitable. Hence in 2018, with the transition to a general hospital having a modern multi-clinic healthcare system that caters to the many chronic and critical illnesses affecting Ugandans, this health facility was rebranded to Wyra Medical Centre led by Dr. Nambuya as the Executive Director.

Since its inception, Wyra Medical Centre has earned a reputation for being one of the leading healthcare providers in and around Kampala City.
